14-Year-Old Caught With Loaded Handgun On Long Island

A 14-year-old boy was busted by police with a loaded semi-automatic handgun on Long Island after being called to investigate a group of unruly teens who were possibly armed, authorities announced.

Officers from the Suffolk County Police Department received a 911 call shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Friday, April 15, where there was a report of a group of teens, possibly armed with guns in Huntington Station.

The teens were reportedly in the area of Oakwood Road when the resident called, police said.

According to a police spokesperson, responding officers canvassed the area and located the group at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Fenwood Road and arrested a 14-year-old boy who was in possession of a Bryco .380 semi-automatic handgun with three rounds in the magazine.

The teen was taken into custody without incident and charged with:

  • Criminal possession of a firearm;
  • Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon;
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He was released to a family member and scheduled to be arraigned at a later date.
